Air Fryer Pretzel Bite

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Warm Water (240ml)
  • 2 tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 2 ½ – 3 cups All-Purpose Flour (300−360g)
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt (for the dough)
  • ½ cup Baking Soda (120g)
  • 8 cups Water (1.9L) (for the baking soda bath)
  • 1 large Egg Yolk, whisked with 1 tbsp water (for egg wash, optional)
  • 2 tbsp Coarse Pretzel Salt or Flaky Sea Salt (for topping)
  • Cooking spray or a tiny bit of oil for greasing the air fryer basket

Instructions

1. Activate Yeast: Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let foam for 5 minutes.

2. Make Dough: Add 2 ½ cups flour and salt. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.

3. Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 30-45 minutes.

4. Cut Bites: Punch down dough, divide into 4, roll into ½-inch ropes, and cut into 1-inch pieces.

5. Baking Soda Bath: Bring 8 cups water and ½ cup baking soda to a gentle boil.

6. Boil Bites: Boil pretzel bites in batches for 20-30 seconds, then remove to a wire rack.

7. Preheat & Season: Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190 ∘ C). Brush bites with egg wash (if using) and sprinkle with pretzel salt.

8. Air Fry: Air fry in single layers for 4-6 minutes per batch until golden.

9. Serve: Enjoy warm!
