1 Boneless Chuck Roast, about 2.5 to 3 lbs (1.1 to 1.4 kg)
1 tbsp Olive Oil (15 ml)
1 ½ tsp Kosher Salt (or to taste)
1 tsp Black Pepper, freshly ground
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
½ tsp Smoked Paprika
Optional: 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary for a more herbaceous flavor
Instructions
Prep: Pat a 2.5-3 lb chuck roast dry and rub with olive oil. Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika, then season the roast on all sides.
Preheat: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Sear: Cook the roast for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Cook: Reduce heat to 350°F (175°C) and cook for another 35-50 minutes, or until a meat thermometer reaches your desired temperature.
Rest: Remove the roast, tent with foil, and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing against the grain.
