The Easiest Air Fryer Chocolate Cake (Incredibly Moist!)

For the Cake:

  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour (120g)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar (200g)
  • â…“ cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (30g)
  • ¾ tsp Baking Soda
  • ½ tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 large Egg, room temperature
  • ½ cup Milk, any kind (120ml)
  • ¼ cup Vegetable Oil (60ml)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ½ cup Hot Water or brewed coffee (120ml)
  • For the Optional Chocolate Frosting:
  • ¼ cup Unsalted Butter, softened (57g)
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar (120g)
  • 3 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (15g)
  • 12 tbsp Milk
  • ½ tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep: Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C). Grease and flour a 6-inch cake pan.
  2. Mix: Whisk dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda/powder, salt) in one bowl. Whisk wet ingredients (egg, milk, oil, vanilla) in another.
  3. Combine: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and mix until just combined. Slowly whisk in the hot water/coffee until the batter is smooth and thin.
  4. Cook: Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Air fry for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
