Easy 3-Ingredient Air Fryer Baked Potatoes

how to make a backed potato in the air fryer

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium russet or Idaho potatoes, 7 ounces each, washed and dried
  • olive oil spray
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

You can have a perfect baked potato in just a few easy steps. The inside will be moist and the outside will be crispy. I love how they turn out every single time!

1. Prep the Potatoes: First, wash your potatoes really well with water and a brush to get any dirt off. Dry them completely with a paper towel. Then, use a fork to poke holes all over each potato, about 4-5 times. This step is super important because it lets steam escape while cooking, so the potatoes don’t burst in the air fryer!

2. Oil and Season: Next, spray the potatoes all over with olive oil spray until they are lightly coated. Sprinkle the salt and pepper on them. Use your hands to rub the seasonings all over the skin so every bite is flavorful.

3. Air Fry: Place the seasoned potatoes in your air fryer basket in a single layer. Make sure there is some space between them so the hot air can move around and make them crispy. Cook at 400∘F (200∘C) for about 35-45 minutes. I like to use tongs to flip them over halfway through the cooking time. The potatoes are done when the skin is crisp and a fork or knife pokes into the center very easily.
